Do our cars need suspension mods?

I’m on the fence of buying a few suspension goodies for my bolt on A8 SS.
I’m able to pretty consistently cut 1.61 60’s and have been 1.605 everything being stock. I’m preparing to add a converter in a few months and I’m hoping for mid 1.4s.
Is there any general advice on what BMR parts will help the most, if any. Thanks

If you're not having stability issues on the strip, then it ain't broke.

On the street, the chassis and suspension of our cars are particularly well sorted from the factory. Plenty of other things to spend $$$ on.

I was in the same quandary as you two years ago. Spend money on cradle, links, shocks, rear, front???? You can spend a few hundred or a few thousand. But, where is the data for what parts will result in lower 60 ft's and how much lower? If good data exists, I never found it. Finally, decided on 1" lowering springs in the rear and a drag race alignment (not for daily drivers). The expense was minimal and the result was minimal as well; in fact the best 60' of 1.47 occurred before the lowering springs. The biggest improvement came from the converter. Went from high 1.5's to low 1.5s and occasional high 1.4's. Mid 1.4's is a lofty goal, I hope you make it. There are only 5 cars on the Bolt-on fast list that have done 1.4's or better (Snowblind 1.395) all are in the top 12 and the slowest E.T. of the bunch is 10.82. Let us know what you do and what results you get.

My car cut a 1.42 60 foot with 100% stock suspension. When I did some more upgrades the car needed a cradle lockout kit to keep it from wheel hopping, the strange thing is my 60 foots aren't as fast but the overall 1/4 is!

I cut a 1.376 60 this pass weekend .. 24psi in drag radials, stock zl1 suspension … built 10 speed with circle-d converter and aftermarket drive shaft..

Wondering if ditching the front sway bar would net 1.2s

Did you go to RPM for those mods?

I think you may be right, I’ll probably not end up touching the suspension unless I have traction issues after the converter install

Only reason I was optimistic about getting into the 1.4 60’s was because the car the converter I bought came off was cutting 1.467s with just bolt ons, only suspension he had done was BMR upper and lower trailing arms.
My car currently cuts 1.61s all day off idle stock suspension, On 305/45/17 ET street Rs.
I’ll report back after I get it installed hopefully before the end of the year.

Just wanted give a update. Ended up doing BMR upper and lower trailing arms and Upper control arms that’s it. Have the Converter as well. On the same 305/45/17 Et Street R the car now cuts 1.45-1.47s consistently when it hooks.
Best on stock converter and stock suspension on this tire was a 1.605 for me. Still just bolt ons
