i hate it. the orange bits look like stickers put on by a child. hideous looking car and no idea why these mustang loonies are going mad over this pos.
I have to agree with your last point. While To me, this is what the GT should have always been. It isn't special in any way. I want to like it because it finally raises the standard to Camaro level, but the price is completely off base. Overpriced GT IMO.

Since everyone is mentioning price- what do you think of used SS 1LEs advertised at near original MSRP and some new above MSRP? Still worth it?

I think the car is 'worth' it, depending on actual price and mileage etc.

For me at least, this would not be my only car so I would wait until prices come back to normal before purchasing as basically a toy. Not everyone can afford to wait as it would be their primary car.

Still nothing else I would spend my money on, what else gives the performance and content of a 1LE at its price?

I like the wait strategy!

Nothing else has the performance of the 1le for that price. But sometimes driving is not about the performance numbers alone. 45-50k for a SS 1le is up there- 10k more gets you ton of interesting options. Of course if 10k is easy to swing that is and the budget is not set. But you are right- cant touch the 1le even at MSRP, just the current market is crazy

Thought y'all might find this interesting. Check out this screen shot I grabbed of the Mach 1 coming down the Willow Springs straight from the Edmunds.com YT video. Specifically, look at that hood lifting up. Looks like it needs much better hood venting/ underhood air management.

That said, I think the Mach 1 looks great with the handling package. Not ZL1 awesome, but very good -- better than a GT PP1 IMO. But, that hood lift is concerning (same hood vents as a GT so I'm sure the GT has the same issue).

Oh that's bad.

I know a few of the early Gen 6 cars had problems with panel gaps and paint (especially tge black metallic cars) but Fords seem to be notorious for it.

I wouldn't call the Mach 1 pic I posted a panel gap issue. That particular Mach 1's hood (in the Edmunds video) doesn't look like that at a stop or at low speeds. It's the air pressure under the hood forcing it up at elevated speeds - it needs better underhood air management (i.e., bigger vents). That's creating a lot of lift on high speed turns that will hurt the handling capabilities.

This is not the first time I have seen/heard of a GT hood being a liability at high speeds.

Seems Ford has not fixed it, you would think this would have been a point of concern for their "Most track capable 5.0".

Oh well, Ford being Ford.

The hood on my GT fluttered at highway speeds, pretty well known thing on those cars but still surprised it's not been 'fixed", hood fitment was also poor along the front fascia.
