18" Rims on 2019 Camaro 2SS?
Hello together,
before I get told "search the forums", I did do that and found all sorts of answers So, I have the 2019 V8, 6.2L Automatic Camaro 2SS, and am looking for options for winter tires. As 18" are cheaper than the 20", I wanted to go with 245/50/R18 square steup. I have seen other threads where people did put those on, but I didnt see them stating exactly which car was it fitted on. I am from Germany and just talked from people from here (not Camaro owners, but rims&tires guys) and some told me I should be careful about the brake caliper clearance. My question is following: If I search for 18" rims for Camaro 2SS on Tirerack and it gives all those rims, can I be really sure that those listed rims fit on the car without any rubbing and fitment issues? https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/resu...utoModClar=2SS The problem is that I need to find a rim on tirerack and then find if those are available somewhere in Europe so I can get them. Do you have any options that you know that work and can be obtained in Europe, or can TireRack be trusted that listed rims will fit with no isssues? Also, I cannot introduce insane offset as the top half of the tire has to be within the fender envelope, so again - Tirerack offset can be trusted? I dont want to buy rims and see it doesnt fit Thanks and stay safe |

I am no expert, so take what I say as such. As far as I understand it, the fitting concerns come from the wheel touching the strut and the wheel having enough clearance for the brake calipers. The SS comes with 8.5" wide wheel in the front normally, and the lower trim Camaros run an 18" wheel, so an 18x8.5 should fit with no rubbing issues. The thing you would then need to worry about would be the brake caliper you have fitting inside your wheel, and that all depends on what wheel you have, and its offset, as well as which caliper you have on your car.

Just find a set of OEM 6thgen 18” wheels, they fit all models of Camaro. That’s what I use for winter in 245/50.

That is why I asked about the Tirerack and their offer, because I can find those rims also in Germany/Europe. I have the Brembo 4-piston front and rear (J6G), which is the standard on 2SS, and it would really be great to have some feedback about tirerack rims from someone who used non-OE 18" rims on a 6th gen Camaro I will also send them an email directly. |

I purchased a winter tire & wheel pkg from tirerack for my 2SS (J6G). The wheels are stamped made in Germany: https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Whee...utoModClar=2SS
