Alignment

Took my 18 RS in for an alignment from the dealer I bought the car. Not a Chevy Dealer, was told something about special tools needed to align the Camaro. What's up with this? Looks like only Chevy dealers can align a Camaro?

I have an 18 RS, and Belle Tire did mine with no issues. Wasn't any more expensive than any other alignment, so I'm guessing there was nothing special about it

Maybe they don't have it in their computer?
I have mine done at a Ford and CDJR dealer (I work at them), and the techs have no issues with aligning an off brand vehicle.

comment was something about a bolt that has to be replaced to do the alignment. I see that they have camber bolt kits. Something new that I have not dealt with in the past.

Let me help you with a few details from the service manual, see below.

Indeed there is a single-use bolt, plus the camber adjustment assist bolt that is not part of the suspension but helps perform the alignment (and is discarded afterwards).

Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it. First time I have had a car that you have to replace the suspension bolts on alignment.
