1LE wheel spacer install recommendations
Good day from Canada!
New 2022 1LE finally on its way from the plant. I'm looking into installing spacers (3mm or 5mm or 8mm depending on your recommendations). I wish to install these with the actual stock studs. Can I install these and still have enough thread to keep the wheels tightly secured? Thanks a bunch Last edited by BigSteph; 10-19-2021 at 02:39 PM. |

Before or after they come off?

3mm, yes, 5mm is near the edge, 8mm no way.

^^^ what he says.
I tried both 3mm and 5mm spacers, and the latter leaves just the bare minimum thread count.

Interesting, anyone have any pictures of what this(3mm or 5mm) looks like on a 1LE?
I've done anywhere from 3mm to 25mm spacers on previous cars but didn't think it was needed on the 1LE. Do people do fronts and rears or just the rears?

I use 3mm. It’s really hard to see it on a pic installed.you only need them on the front unless you have a weird offset. My rear wheels are 10.75x19 with 35 offset and no issues . The fronts are same with a 15 offset. Tires are 305/30 re71s and they don’t run wide, but I had to do the strut mod and a 3mm spacer in order to get -2.6 camber. And the tire will still rub on the strut a tiny bit on the corner of the strut flange.

Actually he didn’t say one way or the other. Didn’t think about spacers on stock wheels, but a 3mm spacer won’t be very noticeable.

Indeed, I simply want to add a 3mm, 5mm or 8mm (this last one seems too much based on the replies you guys supplied) spacers on a stock 1LE. Ideally on all 4 wheels just to widen the stance and look.
Thanks to all of you for your insights. |

I run 5mm and its on the bubble. I will say get rock guards because the spacers only make it worse.

For years it seems the conventional wisdom has been that you can use spacers up to 5mm with stock lug nuts. I ran 5mm spacers with extended depth lug nuts b/c I was uncomfortable with the number of turns I got from regular nuts.
My wheels are all aftermarket now. I don't use the 5 mm spacers anymore, I have custom bolt-on spacers with their own lugs. |

Big Steph Did you decide on your spacer. Thinking about 5mm on my 1LE.
