I would kill for ventilated seats with an external switch. I don’t care about making it work with the stock 2SS HVAC buttons. It sucks that progress was being made and then forgotten about :/

The controls aren't as simple as on/off, seems like nobody has bothered to find a good solution. It might be easiest to buy and install 2SS buttons/controllers otherwise sounds like it needs a pwm motor driver for the ventilated part and some temp controls for the heated part, neither one are simple especially if you don't know exactly what the required inputs are.

Summit1le1ss, any update? Just read through 25 pages and seemed like you were so close to the factory controls working.

Seems like something Gen5diy should take on.
They make a bunch of aftermarket harnesses/kits to make stuff like this work (retrofitting factory HUD, factory HID Halo headlights, factory MyLink, nav., etc. in Gen 5 and 6?). |

Except it isnt just a harness, there is the BCM involved and the HVAC controllers and wiring that is missing under the seats. That is the whole reason I think the project stalled out.

i had wondered about gen5diy as well. I also wondered about getting a control module/wiring/switches for an aftermarket heat/cooled seat, and then wire it up to the stock one. Unfortunately I don't know enough to ensure it works without being dangerous.

I would go for a small toggle switch on the side of the seat to turn on seat fan in the summer.

I may be missing the question but my 2018 1LE 2SS has both Heated and Cooled seats.

The 1SS version has the same seats, but no way to control them. 2SS 1LE wasn't available for 2017.

Hey guys! Long time lurker, first time poster here. This weekend I was able to get the ventilated portion of my driver seat working using this DC motor controller and external switch. It's single speed, set to full power. I'm powering it using the 12V switched power running to the cigarette lighter, so I've separated this from the seat harness. I had to make a small wiring harness with connectors running to the switch, controller, and both fans. It works like a charm!
If y'all have any questions just let me know. Video: https://youtu.be/trDvePzE_hk Pics: |

Yeah. This is about all I want from the heated/cooled seat functions, a little ventilation on a hot summer day.
