Yea. Nothing anyone didn't already know though
C8 beats gt500 on street surface, gt500 can win on prepped surface and definately on a roll.

to be fair to the Vette, they would have to used the C8 ZO6 or Zora

Thanks for posting Farmer Fran, fun watch. Especially watching the GT500 get knocked out in Round 1 @ $93K MSRP.

And by a Vette no less

I am sure the Ford guys are screaming "Why didn't they take that race to the 1/2 mile!"

The GT500 was going more than 8 mph faster at the end of the 1/4 than the C8 was, so I think 3/10 mile would suffice!

Well, that C8's msrp was $87k, so they weren't that far off in price. And the GT500 was 4 seconds faster around the track...not to mention the GT500 CFTP was Randy's Pobst's favorite car on the track at the BDC comp.

This vs. section has gotten a little stale since I have changed teams..

I'm not surprised by the outcome either. The F8 Tributo is very quick, like the 488 Pista. And I'm not surprised they had to stretch out the race to allow the F8 to beat the AWD Turbo S.

If they did a roll race as well the GT500 would have fared better...

HAHAHA....getting things going again I see

You're right, but you could drop every option from the Vette, and it would still be faster in the quarter mile. The GT500 CFTP doesn't get cheaper or come with the content the C8 does @ $87K.

True, but one has to keep the Z51 option to run low 11s. Motortrend finally tested a base Stingray: 0-60 in 3.3 sec and 1/4 mile in 11.5 @ 121.9 mph (still pretty darn good acceleration, but only 0.95 gs on the skid pad):
https://www.motortrend.com/cars/chev...t-test-review/

I just built a base Stingray with Z51 and no other options: $66k. That's right there w/ the ZL1 A10 in pricing, although I'd still argue the ZL1 is a better performance bargain since it will beat the Z51 C8 in everything except races that require starting from a dig.

Side bar: Why is the navigation option $1,795 in the C8, and only $495 in the ZL1? I ordered the Nav. in my ZL1 since it was pretty cheap, but I wouldn't fork out nearly $2k for Nav.

That article is garbage.

Both the Z51 and non Z c8 are both very close in e.t. at the drag strip (bone stock and on a DR only). The slight 60' gearing advantage the Z model has is negated in the extra weight (45 lbs) and the added aero drag by the end of the 1/4.

What I have noticed in this section is that Idaho2018 has been treating magazine articles as if they are written in stone. He apparently does not go out to the dragstrip and see what the actual cars that are sold off the lots really do. He has argued with me in the past from that perspective, when I had told the truth about the 2018+ 5.0 Mustang compared to the SS Camaro. Seems he did not like that truth, because he quoted magazine specs in an attempt to refute the reality that I have been seeing relative to those 2 cars. So, I'm guessing that his faith in that motor trend article is just more of that same devotion to the propoganda indistry.
