I've had my 10 v6 m/t for 4 months now and i love it. I could have got the SS but i wanted the better gas mileage (and cheaper insurance) (i'm only 19), but it's definatly a step up from most vehicles. sure it doesnt have all the power that the new ss has, but it has more than enough to get someone in trouble. my good buddies girlfriend has a g6 and he says there is no between the two comparisson. no v6 is going to be the same as a v8...but the v6 camaro is the closest you're gonna get. i'd definatly say go for it...you wont be disappointed.

It's amazing how the SS guys say stay away from the V-6...yeah, most of them don't know anything about them. The SS has two more pistons and a bunch more cubes...and there only like one second faster in the 1/4 mi....WOW now thats impressive..the SS is just another v-8 stuffed in a sporty car. The v-6 is a very sophisticated new motor that has breakthrough technology, and run very well at high rpm's.

"Very sophisticaed new motor that has breakthrough technology" = no offense, but if you are trying to put the SS guys down somehow, it's not going to work that way... you have the same basic engine as in your uncle's Malibu or your mother-in-law's Chevrolet Traverse.... You act like a second through the 1/4 is nothing ? Even though it's more like 1 1/2 seconds(high 12s verus low-mid 14s), you obviously need to go to a drag strip. It's got nearly twice the torque too, there is nothing like large displacement V8 when it comes to raw power, sound, and acceleration.

well, do you realize that a second is HUGE in a 1/4? if you haven't been to a track and witnessed it for yourself you need to. you'll get an understanding and it will seem like bus lengths to the spectator. i lol when i hear people comparing the 5th gen v6's to the 4th gen LS1's in terms of power/performance which have also gone 12's stock in the 1/4 plenty of times. yea, those LS engines are just another typical v8
