VP C85 vs X85

The title speaks for itself... Have anyone you guys ran C85 or X85? I'm new to running e85 in the car and only ran it for a few weeks now.

Could you tell the difference?

Which do you prefer?

VP states "C85 makes up to 4% more power and torque than conventional E85." but x85 "Blended with 85% ethanol and 15% top quality hydrocarbons every time, unlike pump E85 which is very inconsistent.
"

I would like to get a drum but unsure which to get C85 or X85. I heard C85 shouldn't be in FBO NA cars get X85 and vice versa but this could be misinfo.

What do yall think?

For your setup you won't gain much over E85 that comes out of your local pump. E60 is all you really need to get full timing. Anything above that might net another 5whp.

That being said if you want to get a drum of something with higher E percentage then look at VP E98. Cheapest @ 374.00 a drum and is 115 octane. You should have enough fuel system to run it but data log to verify.

It isn't worth buying that stuff over pump E85, I am running pump E85 on my 416 twin turbo 1000+ car.

I ran the X85 in my car prior to the new mods, only E35 though. It's a much better fuel than pump E85. The C85 is their E85 mixed with C12 I do believe. I actually switched off of VP fuels and started using OneEthanol. My tuner said they tested it against VP's C85 and it made more power. Kinda tough to find it around though... They have a S flavor and an R flavor. R is mixed with race gas and the S is mixed with 93

I didn't know i could run E98 in the car..I thought e85 or 93 was my limit. So with stock injectors and with the flex fuel sensor.. I can run E98 that's interesting.

I wouldn't say it is a hyped product but for everyday street cars it just isn't needed, if this were a race car that every percentage point is important or you don't have a flex fuel sensor that reads the percentage and adjusts the tune so it had to be perfect every time then it would be something to look at. For a street car with a flex fuel sensor and self adjusting tune pump E is perfectly fine to use.

The stoich table should be populated from 0-> 100% E in the flex tune. That is what allows you to run any amount of Ethanol percentage and the ECU will adjust on the fly... So it should be fine if you have enough fuel system for it. Like I said previously it is way more octane and Ethanol percentage then you need. And your fuel mileage will be even worse. Not economical at all to run for very minimal gains.

Ok thanks for the clarification...this is good info and it make sense. In my case, I was going to use it for only road course track days and drag strip nights. Based on this info, road course it seem overkill the way the car drinks gas in 20 min sessions based on previous experience but for drag strips, I get it. I just want to get a drum so I can fill up the jugs and go without depending on gas in the local areas. So pump e85 would do just fine then.. I will experiment this E98 & get 2 small drums for kicks and giggles to say I ran it once
