255/285 SS Tires

Hey guys, there is a national backorder on the stock 245 Michelin P4S's and I wanted to run a slightly wider tire anyway so I went ahead and ordered 255/285 setup vs the stock 245/275.

I've seen several folks on here run this setup without issue but I'm getting a lot of push back from tirerack and firestone saying the tire is taller and the speedo will be off.

Speed is off 1.1% which I'm fine with but I guess I'm just trying to triple check anyone running this setup has not run into an issue.

Appreciate any advice here.

Thanks,
James

I ran this exact setup for a few thousand miles with zero fitment, drivability, ABS, stabilitrak etc. issues. If anything, it looks even better with the stock wheels, just go ahead. Oh, and if you're switching from the stock runflats, you're in for a treat.

Yup. You’ll be fine. I’m running PS4S in 255 and 295 on aftermarket wheels. No issues for over a year. Speedometer is off slightly but only a few mph.

I did it for 28,000 miles. Zero issues, drove great.

That's good to hear. Did you track or autocross it with this size on it?

I've considered upgrading to the SS 1LE Supercar3 tires in this size on my regular SS.

I did HPDE one weekend and it went great. I think a 305 would be too wide on the standard SS wheel. I had the 4S's as well.

Thanks,

Been running 255/285's for the last 60,000 miles or so on two different sets of tires. Not a single issue yet other than the speedometer being a mph or two off.
