New 2020 1SS 1LE, or slightly used 2019 2SS 1LE?

I’ve been ready to purchase a new 1SS 1LE for a while now, just looking for a good deal, and to feel safe enough to travel to pick up ( there are none near me). Recently I found a local 2019 2SS 1LE with 2000 miles, great condition, 1 owner, clean Carfax for about what I was prepared to spend on the new 1SS. Are the 2SS goodies worth taking the used car? I know many don’t like the look of the 2019 front end, but that really doesn’t make a difference to me.

I think it depends how often you'll drive the car. If it's going to be everyday I'd lean more toward having the 2SS goodies. If it's going to be more of a weekend car I'd go with a 1SS. I initially wanted 2SS features but realized a 1SS is fine since I don't drive it much. Maybe also try looking for a 2018 2SS 1LE.

I love my 2SS goodies - the heated seats & steering wheel are great for when I take my car out in the spring/fall/winter. It's not a daily anymore, but I do have winter tires for it. The Bose audio is just okay. I don't love it, but it does sound pretty okay. Cooled seats work nice when you have the AC on & windows up.

The 2019 will come with forward collision alert if it doesn't come with PDR. Having now seen what PDR gets me, I really wish I'd waited for a car with PDR. It was too late when I realized it wasn't just a glorified gopro - it's quite an advanced telemetry system.

I'll advocate for a used car in a logical, money-saving sense, since someone else paid that 5k depreciation, but it's really up to you!

Thank you for your responses. This will be a daily for me, so having the extra creature comforts of the 2SS does appeal to me. PDR is a must have for me, and the used 2SS has it. If I didn’t want the PDR so much, I could have found a new 1SS locally by now. For some reason there aren’t any near me. Well there is one, but it’s black and I won’t have another black car in Florida.

I say the 2019. I think the front end on this year is way better looking and more aggressive! The creature comforts of the 2SS are worth it! Enjoy your ride!

The one SS1LE’s in my opinion already come with nice options. Nice seats, Apple CarPlay etc. Look into exactly what options each trim level has and pull the trigger. Also consider how often you’ll drive a car.

I think the 19’ 1LE front end looks great. The wrapped hood, and all the black accents tie the front together.

Get the 19’ 1LE 2SS. All the extra goodies that come with the 2SS package are a plus.

Daily?
I'd go 2SS for the blind spot monitor, auto mirror, and other luxury items.

If you question if you want the 2SS, you want the 2SS

I'll have to join the choir on this one, 2SS features are very desirable on a daily driver, you'd probably regret not having them after a while.

I've had my '18 2SS 1LE for a week and a half, already glad I didn't settle. If I'm spending the money, I want the goodies. I was ready to pull the trigger on a 1SS when I found mine, haven't regretted it since.

Counterpoint, I’d take the new car all day. I don’t want a slightly used one, don’t like the 2019 nose.

If you’re going to track it, I think the collision avoidance would be a pain in the butt. 1SS with PDR for me.

The 1SS 1LE cooled seats can be enabled for $150 and a few hours of work with the gen5diy.com harness which was the main thing I wanted from the 2SS package. Heated seats and steering wheel can't be retrofitted currently but you probably don't need them in Orlando. I personally don't like auto dimming mirrors so I was happy to skip the dual zone climate, louder and slightly better stereo, and mood lighting and save the money. I tried the blindspot mirrors on a rental 2SS and didn't like how much they blinked...their scan distance seemed to be set too far back to allow reasonable lane changes with blinker use in heavy traffic on the highway without flashing at you frequently IMO but maybe worth testing out yourself.

If you buy used, make sure to pay a Chevy dealership to use their computer to verify warranty is still intact with no previous tunes or over-revs.

Also if you want to keep the paint immaculate then buying new + temporary paint protection from the first driven mile + paint correction + clear bra type product applied immediately is required but you will lose most/all of that money spent if you ever get rid of the car. Or get lucky and find a used one where someone already did that but it will probably be priced a bit higher if it is a private party sale.

For BSM, there is this aftermarket kit or cheap stick on mirrors of various shapes and sizes.
