Here is my Android Auto settings page:

Note the "Wireless projection" section; if that does not exist in your settings, you'll never get AA to work wirelessly.

Use the instructions at this link:

If you'd like, you may PM me and I will help.

Invertalon, what version of Android are you running?

This might help:

So wireless android auto has to be supported by your phone as well as the head unit. Here are the requirements:

Android 10 - Phone must be a google pixel or Samsung Galaxy S10 or newer

Android 11 - all manufacturers are supported

So if your phone is too old to get Android 11, you'll most likely need a new phone. You might be able to get it to work, but very unlikely to be reliable unless officially supported (see above). If you're in the market, Pixel 4A is a STEAL right now, would highly recommend.

I backed this project as an experiment, they promise wireless AA support for older cars and Android 9+: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawireless#/

We'll see how it'll turn out, if it's any good, I'll post about my testing.

That's not the whole story. I think AA is built-in since Android 10. I have a phone that was born with A 8 (now has 9) -- it does AA wirelessly no problem.

It looks like it's not a limitation of the phone, just the car.

That's good to know, I'm not much of an Android (or even phone) guy and will try to keep the phone upgrade cost down by not getting the latest, but I definitely want to give wireless AA a try. Hate to see any cables in the car, what can I say.

So yesterday when going for a drive, noticed my Android Auto connected wirelessly and had full functionality all of a sudden without being plugged in.

I had Onstar cancel all my (paid) services last week and now it works? Not sure what happened, but either way, really happy that it now works without having to plug in each time! Waze, music, etc...

Not sure if a recent software update on my S9 had anything to do with it either? Just happy it works!

It would be interesting to know if your phone f/w just got upgraded.
What version of Android does it have now? Maybe 10!

If it's <10, I wonder if it now has the 'projection' feature in the AA settings (like I posted here.

Android version is showing as "10"

In the Android Auto settings, it shows under System an option for "Wireless Android Auto", right above the Google Analytics shown in your previous post.

Perhaps it was an update, but I recall going through steps prior for the wireless projection but it still did not work. So I assume the update took care of some problems with compatibility, thankfully!

FYI...I have wireless AA in my new '21 Blazer RS, it will not function with my VPN enabled...so if you have one enabled, it may have to disabled to work.

My 2019 camaro is the complete opposite and I can't figure it out, Bluetooth and wireless work fine but when connected with the usb-c cable there is absolutely no media sound and when this happens my media volume is replace by voice command and I have the s21 ultra.
