Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 VS BF Goodrich Comp 2 A/S

Anyone on here have any experience with either of these on an SS? Tire life, feel, road noise, characteristics in inclimate weather, etc. I have used the Contis on previous vehicles with good success. I drive my SS year round so I need a tire that can handle more than beautiful sunny days.

I have the Continentals on my SS right now and they aren't too bad at all for a street tire. Can't comment on inclement weather because I live in the south.

People have described the DWS06 as mushy. I’d look at the General GMax AS-05 or the Michelin PS A/S 3+ if you can swing it.

That's interesting to hear, I ran the DWS06 on both mine and my wife's previous cars and we loved them. Good life, good in all weather conditions, I never had any complaints. I'd be interested to know what kind of tire life the 6th gen is pulling out of the Comp 2 A/S.

I love the DWS06 on my DD (not a Camaro). Great dry/wet traction and handels in the corners when I push it.

Here's some test and survey results for Ultra High Performance All-Season:

I don't have any experience with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 or BF Goodrich Comp 2 A/S but I replaced my OEM Goodyear F1 ROF with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S in the OEM sizes and I'm seriously not impressed. I don't track my car, it's for weekend get-away road trips which is why I went with the A/S and not the PS4's. The all season tires are suppose to be a softer ride with less noise. The Michelin's are louder than my old OEM tires that had approx. 6,000 miles on them, the reason they were replaced so early is because of the cabin noise and harsh ride offered by the OEM tires. The Michelin's are as bad or worse than the OEM Tires. To be honest, I was stunned when I put a meter on to see the sonic reference. The tires are only 4 days old, I've sent a note out to TireRack to see if they have any suggestions, they were great during the sales process and the tires were delivered very fast. I've checked to make sure the tire pressure was correct, I've driven the tires on pretty much every surface street condition. Wet, Dry, rough asphalt, smooth new asphalt, grooved freeways etc. The tires had great ratings. In fact they were close to the PS4's, as I told the folks at TireRack, I'm at a loss here. I didn't expect miracles but I really did not think a tire with this much fan fair would be this disappointing...

That’s the first really negative review on the Michelin AS that I’ve seen.

I have the Contis and I love them. I have the the BFG's on my 2013 Buick Regal GS and they are also a great tire!

Enzia35, I would have been the last to think it was true... a lot, I think has to do with the cars and the tire sizes. Most of the reviews are glowing, however they have smaller wheels and very different suspensions. My car is 100% Stock with 20 inch wheels. There is an owner of a BMW, I believe it's an M3 with 19 inch wheels, his review had him sending the tires back for a set of Extreme Contact DWS 06. The most current review traded his in for the PS4s. As noted before, I am truly stunned. In fact I had my suspension looked at thinking there may be a problem there. TireRack has been great, they have offered to take the tires back and I can either go to another Pilot Sport or a Bridgestone or Uniroyal brand. If anyone is interested, I'll update the post as things progress along.

I used the DWS06 on previous vehicles and loved them, great tires. Just wondered how they did on a V8 Camaro, particularly in inclement weather.

What kind of mileage do you have on the Contis? How do they do in snow/rain/cold etc?

Mileage hasn't changed. I drove them through the snow storm we had in NY in November. I did much better than I thought I was going to do. It handles well in the rain as well.
