18" rims fit a 2018 1SS
Hi,
I searched the forums (albeit not extremely thoroughly - as my wife would say, I did a "man" search), and couldn't find a definitive answer as to whether you can run 18" rims on a 6th Gen SS. I have an 18 1SS that is going to be my daily driver, and I live north of Boston. I want to run 18 x 8 or 8.5 for winter tires, but can't get a straight answer out of any national tire shop - online or in store. They all hem and haw about brake clearance, saying it "should" work, but won't commit. Can someone here give me a definitive answer? Will it fit, and what offset is required to make it work? Much appreciated!!

I have a set of 18" OEM wheels that I got super cheap on eBay. I hoped to use them as "learners" at the drag strip. They do rub a little bit when I back up and turn sharply.

This is from memory, and a long time ago, but my understanding is that it's not about offset between stock 20 and stock 18 wheels but it depends on which breaks you have on your car. If I remember right the most expensive brembos wouldn't fit in the stock LT 18" wheels. The lowest stock breaks on the 1LT definitely do because I have them, but I think (and I am really not positive) the lower end brembos do too.
Do you know which breaks you have? Whiskey |

I used 18" BMW replicas for winter tires when I first got my car. They fit fine over the stock 4 piston brembos!

Do you know what the offset was on those rims for comparison? Thanks!

Our 18x8.5" wheels do fit your car, with the offsets being +35mm. You can find more information at this link: https://www.apexraceparts.com/shop-b..._wheel_width=8
