My MGB and 240Z were wood rim wheels, a bit of a different feel that some plastic wheel. Donning the string back leather driving gloves made that thin wood trim wheel feel perfect in the hands for me.

I have an Alcantara shift knob in my Audi. After several years it looked worn and smooth. I was thinking of replacing it, but tried Sonax on it and it looks like new. I was surprised the dirt that came out of it how it brought the feel back. Definitely worth it and it does work well.

I use this leather + carbon fiber cover. It is a good fit, durable, adds girth, allows much of the heat to pass through thus the heater is still effective, and looks fairly good in general. The only thing I miss is the red zero degree marker on top, but couldn't find any such cover I liked. Replacing the steering wheel is overkill for my use.
