Just Did a Telephone Handshake on a 1LE

Gees, I can hardly believe it, I will soon be the proud owner of a 2017 Hyper Blue 1LE in perfect condition and under 10k miles. I am so excited. I've been feverishly watching the Camaro for sale threads trying to find a good deal, and I had to wait a while for finances to work their way out and that happened this week.

I almost made a deal on a C5 Corvette since I think that may be the best series of Corvette manufacture of all time. I'm sorry that I won't get another of those, but I've had a C3, C4, C5 and C6 Corvette, some multiple cars in a series with no regrets and only tons of fun. I'm glad I waited for this 1LE which will be my second 6th Gen.

Here's what it is:

-9,XXX miles
-PDR
-Wheel locks
-Suntek CXP 35% tint
-XPel clear bra on all of the rock chip vulnerable places
-No track time
-Always garaged in a climate controlled garage
-Never parked near anyone...no dings, scratches, or marks.
-Car has always been professionally detailed and clayed and only used Wolfgang Sealant
-Never smoked in nor drank or eaten in

And, one of the best things, the car is located within about 2 hours of my home. I am going to meet with the seller and drive it this coming Friday, wish me luck!!!

Well, its about time you got back in the game. I predict that you will bring it home after that test drive. Nice color choice but I might be a little biased. So, here is an early congrats on the purchase!

Oh - by the way - at first I misunderstood your thread title. I thought you meant you ran into a telephone pole. Oops!

Congrats on your purchase. There are some outstanding deals on these lightly used 6th Gen 1LEs presently. I had thought about one myself. Post some pictures.

LOL...I had to really laugh out loud, Dan! I plan not to ever run into a telephone pole. I am truly excited to get back into a performance car after a year and a half...do you think you can get withdrawal symptoms from such things?

Not long ago you and I spoke about the insane value of these bad boys in the used market. I really want a used GS Vette, but it is absolutely insane what you can get a used 1LE for. Is $20K more for a used GS even worth it? Makes deciding a lot more difficult.

There was one in Dallas that sold in a day, less than 5,000 miles and priced at $32,500.

Excellent bang for the buck if I didn't have my Boss I would be looking hard at these.

Sorry, I forget there are other iterations of the 1le. It is a very beautiful and fully optioned SS with many dealer and owner added cosmetic options. I am truly excited about the prospect of owning another one of these current day hot rods...lol

Gees, you're right. This certainly is a viable alternative to the current run of Mustangs. The Mustang PPl2 Mustang is quite a car in itself. Truly a genuine rival to the Camaro.

If I had decided on a Mustang, it would surely have been one of the new Bullitts. They should run quite well if optioned properly.

There are pics of my car already posted on the Forum, but I would ratherr not say which it is until I'm sure it's a done deal. I will know that tomorrow. I spent hours reading the owners guide yesterday and I've read every article I could find on the 1le and viewed practically all of the youtube videos as well. Cant's wait.

Nice choice, if I did not get 0% financing I'd have looked for a used Camaro 1LE or GT 350R. I've modded the suspension to handle the twisty's and am happy in my 16 GT Coyote Red.

I am very impressed with the Mustang's newly found track performance. I thiink the PPL2 must be a clone of the 1LE. Shame they didn't give it better brakes or tires and then it would be a much better comparison. In speeds above the 1/4 mile, it looks like the Mustang wins a drag race. It's an awesome time to be a car guy or girl!!!

Confirmed Purchase

I was able to see the car this past Friday but didn't want to drive it in the rain. But, we shook hands on the deal and I just got off the phone with my credit union and they approved my loan. They gave pre-purchase approval but this approval is on the VIN number. So, it's going to be mine for sure after we complete the paper work.

Here are some pics from the sale posted by the seller:

The car looks awesome and I know you will really enjoy it once you have your hands on it!

Good luck getting everything wrapped up on the purchase.

BTW - there is no way those photos were taken in TN. Did it start out its life on the west coast?
