Any of you guys running the MT ET Street R tires?

Now that eng mods done i need some tires that will help with traction. My PS4s just spin at any speed. I don't dare turn off traction control. Was thinking of the MT ET Street R. Hoping for 4-5k mileage if possible. Only hitting the track maybe 1 or 2 times a year. Thoughts or other tire choice for a 900hp car?

Thinking of 17x10.5 or 17x11 in the back and maybe a 18x6 rim for the front.

Amazing tire for the track, not so much on the street. The sidewalls are soft so they feel mushy when cornering and they have zero wet weather traction. Best street drag radial is the Nitto 555R2

Would you say those Nittos are night and day better than my current ps4s for dry traction. Right now it can get scary quick.

I run these at the track but not on the street... Like Z OH 6 said... you get caught in the rain and you are done! Awesome at the track though! Not sure if there is a good tire out there for 900HP on the street... I hear a lot of guys talking about the Toyo R88R's being a good street tire.

R888R hands down best street tire. My car makes 780whp but I didn’t want to run a drag radial all the time and lose cornering/handling. If you have the right tire pressure and warm them up a bit there are great at 60 roll. Below that nothing is going get traction for street tire. I have 325/30/20 on 11.5” wheel. You can always do 315/30/20 on the stock wheel without issue. I run PS4S in 295/30/20 for the front.

Its a good street tire only if you can live with the noise and they aren't good in the rain at all. The Nitto 555R2 is just as good when its dry and better when its wet and without all the noise that the R888R has. The R888R also needs to heat up for best performance. It was designed to be an autocross/road racing tire which means it works best when the tire compound is in a specific heat range.

I would rate the Nitto 555R2 a better all around tire, it actually corners well too. The 555R2 was the only tire that I could get any traction on my 1000hp(892whp SAE) Hellcat. I couldn't use full power from a dig but I could from a 40mph roll, no other tire was able to do that except the MT ET Street R which is the best available, just not for the street.

Do you think i could get 4 to 5k mileage from a pair if only hitting track once or twice a year at most?

Suggested size P315/35R17?

I am 714 rwhp and it is a Christmas miracle I didn't crash this morning. I am running stock Good Years less that 1k miles and at 70 I did a 1/4 to half throttle pull and it was like riding a bull. Let off and held on and luckily it straightened out. Lesson learned.

You should get 10k miles out of them. I got 7k miles out of the original 555r and I beat the snot out of those tires. The 555r2 has more tread depth and a stiffer sidewall then the original 555r. I have the 555r2 on now and couldn't be happier...only tire I will run from here on out. Imo they give up little to nothing in terms of stability, comfort, handling, but offer a ton more traction then any street tire. I have been 3.0 0-60 10.5 @ 135 with the 305/35/20 on a unprepped surface according to my Dragy. So I am sure they will serve you well. At the track the MT R would be better...street is a different ball game.

Suggested size would be a 305/45/17. The 315/35/17 is too short.
