Headers recommendations
Merry Christmas and ((Hopefully)) much happier new year than 2020.
I wonder if there any headers setups or options that retains the stock NPP note or offers a similar or quieter note preferably (Hush Puppies) headers to keep both police and neighbours happy. Thanks in advance. |

I'm running kooks with high flow cats. Start up is a little on the noisy side but kept in touring mode and easy on the throttle keeps it quiet.

When you go with headers and no cats/high flow cats, its going to be much louder, no way around that. The NPP will help compared to an open exhaust but its still going to be considerably louder than stock.

I like my 1 7/8 Speed Engineering. Great fit and the price is right.

Kooks 2" Headers. No cats.
Very loud startup even when you start it in Touring. But after the initial rumble , if you put it in gear (I have the A10) it settles down immediately. Or you just have to wait 1 minute for the initial start cycle to run its course. To me it was worth it..... But it can be annoying for neighbors / bystanders who sometimes get startled upon hearing the car start up. |

ARH long system with 1 7/8 headers and cats into factory suitcase. Barks at startup, mellow below 3k but screams like a banshee at wot. Perfect imo

This is a good video to judge differences and if you go to the 1:45 mark there is a video of a car setup with what I think I am going to do. Kooks long tube headers (assume 2 inch in the video) Kooks Green Cats X-Pipe NPP Exhaust

I am using 2" ARH into Long system(no cats) as well, but stock muffler.Been thinking of a muffler swap though.
Figure out planned mods before you buy cause you may find you don't need 2" Headers.

I saw few SS videos with this setup. I really liked the ARH note compared to the rest. It has a deep growl. The rest seem to be raspy or just free flowing.

Thanks for the advice. Im planning for changing my upper pulley to 2.3 with CAI. The headers are just in case the boost required more air vent.

I had no issues with Texas Speed 2" catted. Can't beat the price either.
