Wink New 2SS picked up last night! SoFlo

Greetings, I have been lurking on this forum for a while, researching the 19.
I had a 2012 2LT, sold it in 2016.

I finally found the 19 I wanted and after lots of haggling picked it up last night. Riverside Blue! Pictures coming. The dealer didn't do the prep right and they didn't mount the rear license plate at all. So they have to actually drill holes in the car to mount the plate??? Why does it come like that from factory?

I have License plate in rear window and luckily didn't get pulled over yet.

Also, if they won't do it, how do I remove the dealer's decal on the rear?

Very fun this morning, I was surrounded by Camaro's and chatted with a guy in a yellow one at a light.

So far the 2SS is already the most amazing ride I have ever owned....

I am in Broward/Dade county in South Florida.
SO EXCITED!!!

Congrats on the new ride, Camaros are awesome beasts. Enjoy.

Dealers decals are usually cheap vinyl. I've removed mine by heating with a hair dryer and slowly pulling off. I usually wipe the area with some alcohol in case of glue residue, then don't forget to polish the area when done. I've never had any problems removing them.

First, welcome back to the Camaro world. We've missed ya!

Second, all cars have holes for the plate on the rear bumper, it's a factory standard setup. Is it possible they may have been referring to the front bumper? About half the dealerships avoid installing the front license plate holder because most people don't want them installed. Some do it because the state requires it, etc etc.. The front plate installation DOES require drilling, and it puts holes in your front bumper. There are better ways of displaying a front plate without ruining the look of your car.

The dealer sticker can be removed with some Goo Gone and a hair dryer, or simply take it back to the dealer and ask them to remove it. I told the dealer I wouldnt leave the lot without it removed.

You are currently on a temp tag, so pretty much no one will pull you over as long as it stays visible in the window. Many places actually put them in the window so the weather doesnt ruin them/get stolen.

Last but not least...

It is definitely the rear bumper, FL does not have front plates. I saw it, I will take a picture, there are no holes to install plate, as crazy as it sounds. I got home from dealer hell so late last night, I have not had time to take pics yet.

Nope, she is right. My 2019 did not have holes drilled out for the rear license plate. There are a few dimples where you would need to drill holes though (and not just force a screw into it like the idiot at the dealership I bought mine from).

By the way, great car and great color. Mines the same, Riverside Blue 2SS.

For the dumb dealer decal , get the hairdryer out and get it nice and hot , take your time pulling off and goo gone is great.

That's nuts...but maybe that's how it is being done with the 2019's?

That's nothing! The idiot at my dealer drilled TWO pilot holes in the right side, one all the way through and one that must have been his mistake, that is only half way through.

Welcome! Need those pics of the car! Speaking only for myself, I don't care if your sweetheart is in them or not.
