305/ tire fitment on factory wheels. Big problems!!!

I stuffed some used 305 NT555 drag radials on the camaro and this is what happened. Stay tuned and I’ll show you how I repaired the harness and relocated it. Very easy relocation process. No wheel spacers required.

It's a known issue.

After I soldered and repaired the wire, I relocated the harness here.
Stupid location for a fuel pump harness in my opinion. Sorry I did not take the pictures in landscape.

How do thwy hold off the hit. I have a whipple and over 600 to the wheels. Im not sure if i should get a set of those for the strip or stay with the Toyo R888R. they are considered an autocross tire, they stick.

At 20psi tire pressure I bogged off the line from a 3500rpm launch. I clutch kicked after the bog and it barely chirped the tires. They surprised the hell out of me. If I slip the clutch at 5500rpm it does great. They stick a little better than my mickey Thompson’s did in my opinion.

The new nitto NT05R are the newer drag radial version. Friends 900whp c6 runs them and he says they hook.

Newb question here:

The rub issue is from putting the 305’s on the OEM SS rims and having an offset problem, correct?

I’ve got a set of MRR FS01’s with 285/305 MPS4S’s on order. PK said they are direct application. Are there any rubbing issues with my set-up?

Thanks for helping calm a newb who is setting up his first performance car in almost 20 years... (And first new car in 12.)

if you are lowered and have a 305/35 or higher in the rear you will rub if you do a 305/30 you will be fine

Krops: Thanks for the info. My vert has MRC and is still bone stock. (Only 6 miles on it.). No plans to lower.

Just checked my invoice. I did order the 305/30/20’s for the rear.

The car is at the dealership right now getting the last LPO’s done, (6-piston front Brembo’s and matching red rears, kalahari knee pads.) Hope to have it in the morning.

New car, impatient owner!

I don’t know about all tire brands but you can run 305/35 tire size.
5mm spacers are $30 and it did not scrub.

On a side note NT555r radial does not come in a 305/30

Stupid stupid questions, but what does that wiring harness control? I wonder if that is the cause of all my CEL's and Rear End/Rear Axle warnings coming on cus I do rub a bit on that side.
