M6 is tough on drive train but I love it. Went from 3:42 to 4:33 gear and lost 1.5 mpg on highway.
Always push track button one time to turn off ABS to launch or shift hard. Sheared rear drive shaft to yoke bolts hitting second hard with ABS on. One size larger fits and upgrade to stronger bolt. Also sheared ring and pinion teeth with ABS on. Of course on third ring and pinion even without ABS. On third posi but now make eaton true track for this car. (quite as stock) Using 1LE 3:90 ring and pinion. Half price of Richmond gear and holding up much better. 4:33 gear was to high anyway because top end in quarter was less with shorter tires on 17" rims that with stock size 20's. Also running 1LE half shafts after breaking stock CV joints. Must change hubs for bigger bearings. Easier to break things with drag radials on the street. Nitto DRs will only last 5-6000 miles and 20 to 30 passes. Now running Nitto Motivos that have a 56,000 mile warranty. Spin like crazy but lots of fun and doesn't break parts. Intend to try Mickey Thompson Street Comps when they come out in 315/35/20. Should last longer then MT drag radials. I just love to hit second, get sideways and spin them all the way thru second and third. Traction control will straighten you out if just let off if get to sideways in traffic. Have rip shifter and installed Lingerfelter two step rev limiter with reverse pressure switch at the top of the clutch. Set bottom limiter around 5000 rpm for no lift shifts with out over powering second at the track. Shifts Quick. Last edited by nuptualnemesis; 08-16-2013 at 03:05 PM. |

Every day. Welcome to the cockpit. She needs an upgrade though, that stock shifter bangs around in the console a wee bit too much, but its a '09 build car so

When I bought mine there was a viscous rumor going around that the autos didn't have as much power and that they actually ran on only 4 cylinders at times. I wasn't having any of that crap, so I bought a stick and have never looked back. I love it. It's the most fun-to-drive car I ever driven, especially after I added Kooks long tubes, CAI cold air, and a MGW shifter.
