hope this helps

Manufacturer: Chevrolet

All models except Trailblazer

VIN Characters: 17 (beginning with MA6...)

Decode:

9th character represents the MONTH of Manufacture
10th character represents the YEAR of Manufacture

An Example:

If your 9th VIN character is G, then it represents the Month - July
If your 10th VIN character is A, then it represents the Year - 2010
Month Codes:

A = JAN
B = FEB
C = MAR
D = APR
E = MAY
F = JUN
G = JUL
H = AUG
J = SEP
K = OCT
L = NOV
M = DEC
Year Codes:

A = 2010
B = 2011
C = 2012
D = 2013
E = 2014
F = 2015
G = 2016
H = 2017
J = 2018
K = 2019
L = 2020
M = 2021
N = 2022
P = 2023
R = 2024
S = 2025
T = 2026
V = 2027
W = 2028
X = 2029
Y = 2030
NOTE:
Its been confirmed that effective from February 2011, there is a change in the Month and Year code positions of Chevrolet VIN.

7th Character now represents MONTH of manufacture
9th Character now represents YEAR of manufacture
For e.g if your 7th Character is G then, month is July and if your 9th Character is F, the year is 2015.

Additionally, you can find a separate placard near the front left door, right bottom (near seat) that has 2 characters representing MONTH and YEAR. For e.g GF = July 2015.

Full credit goes to fellow members Torquedo, keyur and Poitive for the findings.

Trailblazer

VIN Characters: 17 (begining with MMM...)

Decode:

4th character represents the MONTH of Manufacture
9th character represents the YEAR of Manufacture

An Example:

If your 4th VIN character is N, then it represents the Month - October
If your 9th VIN character is G, then it represents the Year - 2016
Month Codes:

A = JAN
B = FEB
C = MAR
D = APR
F = MAY
G = JUN
H = JUL
K = AUG
M = SEP
N = OCT
P = NOV
P = DEC
Year Codes:

A = 2010
B = 2011
C = 2012
D = 2013
E = 2014
F = 2015
G = 2016
H = 2017
J = 2018
K = 2019
L = 2020
M = 2021
N = 2022
P = 2023
R = 2024
S = 2025
T = 2026
V = 2027
W = 2028
X = 2029
Y = 2030

to the forum.

Month and year can be found on silver sticker located below striker on drivers side.

10th location in VIN is the year of production.

I guess you want the exact date, since you already have the information available from the door jamb and the service parts identification label in the trunk. Here is what I did, hope it works from Canada as well: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...3#post10977233

Uh, that's the production date then. Did you want the day and hour? Lol. Cars take a few days if not a week+ to build. That's why they list the month and year on the door tag.

Email to socialmedia@gm.com with your VIN and ask for the build sheet. It has all the RPO codes and details of each of what the car was built with, and also the build date

I'd love to have the day and hour ! Seriously, only the day would be nice. I just had the exact date for my 1982 Z28 and I just want it for my 2017 now !
