Low Octane and FI

Highest octane I have available here is 90. How does that factor into supercharging? (edited for fat finger!)

Probably would want to run less timing and boost than 93. Your tuner should be able to account for it.

Like everyone else says, you just tune with the octane you have.

Would recommend getting a proper dyno tune and not anything remotely done.

Your car is smart enough to pull timing if the octane can't keep up. As long as you aren't leaning out the engine, should be safe with 90.

Which is? And what is your mixture ratio. We have 92 here so close to 93 but a little boost could not hurt either.

My tuner recommended it.

Give me a call I can help, I design performance packages and tune many cars in Alaska for 90 octane fuel.

Not sure of the quality of the tuners around here. Will have to ask around this summer.

For as little as I drive it that may be a viable option.

You're on my list when it comes time to supercharge. I think I'd be perfectly happy with a heartbeat when the time comes.

I lived in Alaska for a numbet of years. I used Torco and never had an issue. Not sure if it is still available.

Thanks for the tip. I did a quick search and came up empty. Amazon has it but won't ship here.

I think I'll be fine on 90 - I just wasn't sure if the supercharger was compatible with that low an octane number since everyone down in the lower 48 runs 93 or stronger. I think I will happy with ~650 horsepower.
