Lol! But you do it anyway! That’s funny as hell.

This is actually a surprisingly difficult question, everyone's limit and tolerance for personal risk is different. The trend seems to be convergence to the lowest common denominator, which kills fun altogether, since maximum safety is found where zero risk and thus zero activity/fun lies.

I definitely see your point, too, Wyzz Kydd, but I'd still say to each their own as long as they aren't blatantly trying to make others pay and/or suffer for their own mistakes, which doesn't seem to be the case here.

It’s one thing to balance risk and reward. We all do that. But this idea that taking the headrests off improves visibility is nuts.

This all risk for no reward at all.

Having said that, you’re right, it’s his neck, have at it.

At first I thought you guys are talking about the rear headrests, and then I realized that there are no rear headrests in a Camaro.

Always found the visibility to be fine with the headrests on.

I am not gonna repeat what others are arguing. Your neck, your problem.

Need to buy one of those Guys. You can have all of the good stuff, no head rest, no seat belt.....but the best visibility.

You may have time in the auto insurance industry but I have time in the vehicular homicide industry and this is a terrible idea. I mean completely ridiculous and basically asking for a severe or fatal injury.

Make sure you let you insurance know you defeated a safety, injury reducing device so they can price your insurance properly or... drop you.

I see it like this: I’m all for personal freedom and responsibility. If you’re aware of the risks, you own the car. So long as your actions do not put anyone else at increased risk you can do whatever you like.

Now, if you have a passenger ride with you in the car, or you let anyone else drive your car, you need to reinstall the headrests. Or simply do not let them ride or drive the car.

This is pretty much my opinion on the matter as well. I wouldn't do it on my car, but hey it's a so called free country. I would probably use a fisher price periscope before taking out the head rests for visibility. Just stick it out the sun roof or window. It would really drive the idea home that I am a genuine post-pubescent toddler behind the wheel of a 650 horsepower cavalcade of extremely questionable shenanigans.

Now the real question is not how to remove the headrests but why Petrol Head got a permanent ban...

If someone in the car including you gets hurt the Insurance Company will void your Insurance upon inspection, could cost you.
