Stock tires after Magnuson?

I am being indecisive with what new rims to go with post supercharger. My question is, how will the car behave on stock rims, 275 and 245 width tires while I make a choice?

Any thoughts?

I'm going with Toyo R888R 285/35/20 for the rears. It's widest (recommended) size I can go on the stock 9.5" rims.

The 305/35/20 would be pushing it as it calls for at least a 10" rim.
It's also almost an inch taller than stock.

With stock tires and sizes? You'll be driving on ice. 285/30/20 up front and 305/30/20 rears is what I run, Pilot Sport 4s, but I'm going to either go with Triple 8s or Super Car 3s.

Yeah i'll need to upgrade, I am in the build deep right now. I need the dust to settle a little before I buy rims and tires... get a blower they said, lol.

I didn’t get a chance to drive with stock wheels/tires. I have the Nittos 285 front and 305 out back. The Maggie running 7-8psi is fun on the street tires. First gear is largely useless. But in 2nd at 40 mph the car will break them loose...but as the hook...your gone!

I like manually shifting from 1st to 2nd then kicking to auto and jamming it...let it get loose in second but no worry about hitting redline. I can’t imagine there is a massive difference between my wheels and the stock setup...

What Nittos do you have so we know not to get them? 555 G2?

I have the G2's. My wheel/tire setup looks bad ass! If you are running a blower; however, not enough traction for the track. I would like to see about getting in the 10's with a vert. :-)

I was thinking that I would keep the G2's on front and add the DR's on back for summer...putting the G2's back on during the winter.

I ran 305/30/20 NT05's on my stock wheels before I upgraded to my current 17" wheels and 305/45/17s. The NT05's hooked up much better than stocks, but for a couple hundred bucks more(and a couple hundred bucks cheaper each set) I got Mickey Thompson ET Streets.

I love the look of your vert, did you have to do anything with spacers or anything so those wheels/tires fit?

Sorry. I just saw this question as I am looking for some tires in case I hit the track. No. I didn’t need spacers or anything. I have 285/30 and 305/30’s.

I think I could add the r888r’s on back as 315/30’s...and will have the wire harness relocated for good measure. Looking to see if there are any other recommendations. Ideally, I would like to see what tire people are using to post real times in the 1/4 mile.
