Ok guys, I need some help. I got a little rammy with the windscreen and snapped one of the little plastic pieces that slip in behind the seat belt. My strongest glue didn't even touch it. I don't want to have to buy an all new screen. Any suggestions??

Windscreen

Is there a type you recommend or do you try to find a GM one on EBay.
Also, I have a 10 year old Golden Retriever that I want to put in the back seat, will she fit?
Thank you...

I have the windscreen and a golden retriever. They don't work together. The windscreen pretty much makes it so that the back seat is unusable except for a small amount of space underneath it.

I use a hammock type seat protector when I have the dog in the car. It attaches to the front and back headrests (in a normal car). It cuts down on a lot of the wind that normally makes it to the front seat. It is not quite the same as the windscreen but it is a significant improvement. It makes enough of a difference that I frequently don't bother installing the windscreen. I paid about $22 for it.

When I was looking for a windscreen the best price I found was shopchevyparts.com. I paid about $424 delivered.

I have the same type of hammock seat protector for the back seat of my Tahoe.
I will order another one for my SS.
Thanks for saving me $300-400 bucks!!

I also hesitated on the windscreen as Ive had previous converts and the wind could be terrible at times. Well after many here loved them I too sprang for one. With it in and the windows down hardly any wind on the front seat area. On the highway if you roll up the windows there is NO wind in the front. Just like a huge sunroof without the noise or wind.

Try finding a wood dowel that is bigger than the tube and whittle it down to where if fits tightly and push together. Sometimes this works. I did it on a cot we used to take camping.

I've been going back and forth on the windscreen due to it being almost $400. After reading all your reviews and actually seeing one today, I pulled the trigger. Shop Chevy Parts has a 5% discount for first time customers. With UPS shipping it was $391. It'll be here next week.

UPDATE: Nice product that works as advertised, but certainly not worth nearly $400. It does help keep the wind noise down while driving at interstate speeds. At 75 MPH, I could actually hold a conversation with my wife.

In a way, the windscreen can be too effective. I've never felt too warm in a moving convertible, even in hot weather. But with this, 88° at 50 MPH made me think about folding it down. It definitely works to noticeably cut down air flow.

One of the good side benefits of the screen is my hat and wife’s box of Kleenex stays in the back seat. Before the screen I lost a hat because I forgot it was there.

I bought one off of ebay. I had a 20% off coupon, so final cost was $334.36 with free shipping. I installed it as soon as it arrived and tested it out on the way home from work. It works very well. I'd say it reduces the wind/turbulence in the front seats by ~50% with all the windows down at highway speeds and ~95% with the windows up. Is it worth the $393.75 (shopchevyparts.com) to $545 (dealer)? If you're worried about your or your significant other's hair getting messed up, then yes. Other than the latter, the only other benefit for me is that I drive with my top down with temps as low as 50°F, which isn't that often where I live. So it helps make the seat warmers and heater more effective.

My wife bought me one from shopchevyparts for my birthday.

Does it work well? Yes, my wife no longer complains when I put the top down. Blocks most of the wind and noise, we can drive on the highway and have a normal conversation. No hair in her face.

Is it worth $400? Well... if it was a mass produced item you could pick up at Walmart, it would probably sell for 50 bucks.

Am I glad I have it? Absolutely
