'20 1LE Splitter (glued on?)

Here's what can happen to your splitter at 175mph when you hit a bird or anything heavier than say one ounce. I'm disappointed it's that flimsy.

Sorry man. That does suck but I don’t know if it’s reasonable to expect it to take such a hit.

Imagine you threw a 175mph baseball at that canard. Is a bird much different?

Hopefully a replacement is cheap and simple to install.

Look at the bright side... doesn’t look like there’s any other damage

Its not glued on. Its clipped on. I just had to replace the drivers side Canard on my ZL1 1LE yesterday. The replacement was $50. It uses removeable plastic clips that lock into connection 'loops'.. for lack of a better term. It took me all of 20 minutes to replace it.

I was being intentionally overly dramatic with "glued on?" I suppose the designers decided it's better to have it release than risk body damage.

Ok. I missed the sarcasm. I agree, it breaks away fairly easily if hit just right. So it very well may be by design. It was easily replaced though.

Dont be disappointed, be glad whatever you hit didnt hit your windshield. Not much will hold up to a hit @ 175 mph, easy to underestimate the amount of force behind something moving that fast.

Yeah, Splitter looks fine.

One thing to remember is that while the pedestrian protection laws are not as advanced in North America as they are in the EU, there are some requirements for pedestrian protection. The dive plane is most likely designed to break off in case of an incident with a pedestrian.

I mean the dive plane probably saved you from damage to the bumper

If you look closely at this area of the missing dive plane, you will see the slots the attachment loops slide into. There are 6 of these and they use 6 removable plastic clips that when slid into the plastic loops cinch it tight to the body panel.
