for those looking to install aftermarket seats or buy 1LE Recaros....

here's a teaser... Planted Technologies used my 1LE as a prototype mule for their new Gen6 Camaro Brackets... production versions will become available soon.....

for those wondering....

Stock 1LE Recaros ( same as ZL1 with heaters and fans) weigh 56 lbs a piece

I installed the PLanted Steel Brackets ( pwder coated black 11 lbs a piece)

Sparco Aluminum 90* Seat Mounts ( powder coated yellow , 4 lbs a piece)

KEVLAR (not GRP) Cobra Suzuka GT's ( custom stitching with NASA OUTLAST fabric, 20 lbs a piece)

31 lbs for each seat, meaning 50 lbs of total weight savings...

MOST IMPORTANTLY... I can finally use the insane grip levels of this car in complete confidence/security as the seat wraps around you and anchors you in a way no stock street seat can.... ( these are FIA certified motorsport seats)

The 1LE seats are great 95% of the time... but I run this car thru canyons hard and very often.
Soon it will be going on the track as well... and I no longer have to brace anchor myself at all for those instant or sustained high G turns where you want to keep a light touch on the wheel...

for those interested in buying my original Recaro seats, you will no find a better street seat for looks, comfort, support and bolstering....
( heated and ventilated... just needs to be enabled)

Those seats are fantastic. Love them
Glad you finally got them in.

I will have to keep an eye open for those brackets. Look like a great fit.

I bought my seats directly from the UK where Cobra Seats are manufactured to take advantage of the very favourable Pound Sterling.( GO BREXIT!)

I am fortunate to be a long haul pilot so I picked them up myself on a London layover after custom ordering a month or two beforehand.

the Kevlar seats are about $1000 each...before customization... I order with proprietary Outlast Material which is used be NASA in space suits and bomb disposal armour to regulate body/seat temperature... I bought an extra square meter for about 90 £.

Going to wrap the seat belt and some of the interior pieces to match the seats.

Planted Brackets should be about $140

My side mounts were about $100 per

sliders about $70 per

install about 2 hrs per seat ( the first time to properly situate and position the seats)

today I pulled 1 G sustained for several seconds and was so relaxed in the seat I could look down and read the G meter on the HUD without any drama.... I couldn't do that before.

Nice, I put up a thread for any Camaro 6th gen for Planted last year and finally someone took their car there! Been waiting on the seat brackets forever!

Looks good, did you use a resistor for the airbag light? Passenger sensor?
