Sticky holster and Mexican carry. Even when I'm driving, easy to position so it doesn't get in the way.

My father-in-law is a retired cop and I asked for his advice when recently contemplating purchasing our handgun for home defense after all of the rioting in Cleveland. His response was short and simple, "I hope you're never put into a position of shooting another human being. But if you are, it's better them than you.". I bought the handgun the very next day.

Interesting. I will definitely be up front and transparent when I do something wrong with my driving, but I was trained in my CWP class by a LEO that you do not tell them you have a gun in the car, he said it's none of their business. The one time I've been pulled over with a gun in the car, I wasn't asked and I didn't divulge...

It may vary by state, but in Ohio you must declare if/that you have a firearm in the vehicle if you're pulled over by a LEO and you have a concealed carry license. If you decline to say, or lie, and they find out later, you're looking at losing your CCP for 6 months.

They actually lowered that to a $50 fine, and then even introduced legislation to remove it (not sure if it went through). The whole law was stupid. First off, they can tell if you are a CPL holder when they run your plate, which they do immediately. Secondly define a "reasonable amount of time". 10 seconds? 30 seconds? A minute? Not to mention each officer would have different standards.

Something I have always lived by is I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

In Florida you don't have to tell them unless they ask.

You don’t have to tell in Georgia, but if asked I do.
