How long do stock SS tires last?

How long do the stock SS tires last? I have about 8k miles and seems the front tires will need to be replaced not too long from now. Just street driving here.

I replaced mine a little after 22k. They still had tread but were absolutely dangerous in the rain.

My stock Eagle F1s lasted about 22-25k. Rears were toast first but the fronts weren't terribly far behind. Never tracked. I'll be sticking with all seasons going forward.

Somewhere between one hellacious burnout and 20,000 miles.

Jim, seems like you should be getting more miles out of the Runflats on the front. Have you had your front end alignment checked? Maybe it’s out and eating your tires!

OEM Tires

If you keep your tires properly inflated, keep all four corners aligned, stay off the track, and drive conservatively . . . Ah, who am I kidding? Drive it like it was meant to be driven and before it’s unsafe in rain, whip out your wallet.

I went with Yokohama Advon all season tires as replacements. Be cautious of mileage guarantees that the are pretty much worthless. Most require routine rotation which can’t be done with a staggered tire setup. At best you might find a non-directional tire that can be swapped from left to right on the same end of the car. I’m happy with the Yokohama’s. Good price and reasonable street performance, especially in the rain.

Might want to check Costco’s prices. When I put on new tires on my Vette they had a $15 per wheel installation package that included a road hazard warranty. I got a nail in my GS’ rear sidewall a week after getting new tires installed. The warranty covered a new $505 tire at no additional cost.

How did Costco do as far as jacking up your car and dealing with low profile tires?

7k miles. Includes a track weekend (8 sessions, 20 minutes each). Got Michelin Pilot Cup Sport 4S and wet grip is 10x better. Going back to track Sep 14. Hope these last longer than the Goodyear Eagles.
