Talking Borla S-Type on Non NPP. Drone?

Hi All, i just got a 2016 2ss convertible last weekend. I have been looking for months, and the deal i got was too hard to pass up especially the color i was looking for.

ANYWAY, I really wanted NPP for obvious reasons, but this one did not come with that option. I am looking to see if anyone has a Non NPP model that has added an Borla S-Type Axel Back Exhaust. I have a few questions.

1) Will i experience drone?

2) Compared to stock how much of an improvement in sound will i experience?

3) I see it says that the Cat Back has an exception for convertible. Has anyone taken the chance to order and try to install on a convertible?

No drone. It's awesome with my ATAK system. At cruise is same as stock. The cat-back systems will interfere with the extra bracing on the convertible models.

But ATAK and S-type are two different exhausts.

Borla advertises no drone regardless.

Have the S-type axle back as well. Got off Amazon for $730 at the time. Zero drone and sounds amazing. Didn’t want ATAK b/c s-type is quieter. But it’s perfect volume to me. Sounds incredibly good.

Thanks for all the responses, I think I will be getting the S-type. Out of the individuals that said they already have the s-type did you have to get the AFM bypass module? i heard without it when the car switches to 4 cyl it sounds like crap.

Thoughts?

No AFM bypass module. Not only does my car not sound like crap when it goes from to V4 mode, but I have absolutely NO IDEA when it does. It's that seamless. I have no idea why a different axle back would have any effect when the car switches to 4 cyl mode.

But don't waste your $ on a bypass module. You won't need it.

I love how people are talking about the atak. You may as well talk about a corsa exhaust. Atak and s type are not related at all

I mentioned the ATAK because it is louder than my S-Type (before headers), with Zero drone. That was to reassure him that the S-Type would be drone free as well.

I have both, ATAK on a 1SS and the S-Type on a 2SS.

Or you could have just answered his question.
