I have a sneaking suspicion that he didn't do enough driver mod away from "point and shoot, stab and steer" to extract the most out of a reasonably powerful RWD car.

The Evo will probably be a much better match for him, dividing power four ways rather than two, and with the turbo still taking a bit of time to spool up to max torque at whatever rpm he's cruising at softening the hit a little.

I wonder how his commentary might have differed if he'd gone to the Evo from a 1LE instead of the SS ??? Just knowing what mods he did do to his SS might be useful information.

Way more fun!

At least I can say I tried the whole American muscle thing, but it's really not for me. Aside from a bit less torque off the line, it does everything better. True driver's car with traction to go with the power, and STEERING.

With some AMS bolt ons I'll be at over 400 USABLE horsepower instead of 426 unusable ponies lol. It wouldn't matter how much I did to the SS, it would never be as nimble. I couldn't even get rid of the wheel hop let alone make it handle well.

Feel free to flame away. But you'll never succeed in getting the perma-grin off my face!

He must not have tried very hard to get rid of the wheel hop. All I did was add the BMR trailing arms and rear toe rods and I have never ever had wheel hop. Maybe some driving lessons would have helped him out and he would have learned how to handle V-8 HP.

I will not argue that you may handle a little better, but if I match you dollar for dollar on bolt ones I like my chances. Once the corner is over we will see who gets to the next corner first.

Either way I hope you enjoy your car, the Camaro is not for everyone. That is why there are so many different cars you can buy. The world would be super boring if we all drove the same car. It was just not necessary to come here and bash the way you did. I have no respect for anyone that bashes like that.

I won't follow in your footsteps but I believe in being a mature adult making decisions to better our life so congrats on the new car.

Hey, I for one take no offense at all that you found a car you like better. Seriously, congratulations. Just as I'm sure that you'll take no offense to the fact that I'm happy there's one less posuer driving American muscle.

I'm glad you like your new car. Congratulations. I don't know why people get pissed off at you because you found something you like better.

My last 3 cars were imports, 2 Japanese and one German and I enjoyed every one of them The last one, a BMW 135i felt about equal to my un-modified Camaro for acceleration, but as soon as I drove the Camaro that was it, goodbye BMW. Different people just have different taste. That's a good thing. It makes life more interesting and, as one of my students once told me, if we all had the same taste there would be one girl with a very long line and a lot of others who were lonely.

No worries OP, drive what you want. The Camaro is a toy anyways. Problem is, people who drive ricers don't have the suspensions to mess around with. So be careful.

Id rather have a moderately fast, great looking car, than a really fast great handling go-kart.

I am doing the opposite. I can't do the import stuff anymore. To me they are not as fun to drive as the big V8 RWD cars.
