Best Spray and Rinse Wheel Cleaner?
For those who have used more than one "spray and rinse" type wheel cleaner, which one do you like best? And which one do you not like so much? TIA.

I like the Adam's wheel cleaner, https://amzn.to/3o1z7x8, price is pretty good (I bought a 1 gal and poured back into my 16 oz bottle as I run out).

I use this and it melts brake dust away very well. little agitation needed.
https://www.autoality.com/store/pc/3...z-320p7885.htm plus the 64oz bottle makes over 6gallon at regular strength and thats what I mix mine to

I’ve used and still occasionally use Sonax Wheel Cleaner plus. Works well, but is pretty toxic… the smell is a bit overwhelming. Directions say to wear rubber gloves and face shield / goggles, plenty of fresh air etc. I DO NOT LIKE THIS PRODUCT for the aforementioned reasons. When I do use it, I dilute with water, wear a respirator and goggles. Kinda a PIA.
The best thing anyone can do to reduce cleaning effort is to pull the wheels and ceramic coat them. That’s what I did on the LT1. I now use the Sonax for only my truck (until it’s used up). |

ceramic coat the wheels & calipers. then regular soap and water works just fine. 99% of the dirt/brake dust sprays off with the hose.
i did mine 30k miles ago (1LE, factory pads). both the wheels & calipers look outstanding.

THE BEST P$S brake buster
OK I will chime in with P&S brake buster being the best wheel cleaner I have ever used. Because I run DTC70 and DTC60 pads ALL the time, I get quite a bit of brake pad dust and because of its great performance and VERY reasonable price, this product is pretty awaesome.

Getting the brake dust off seems to be easy, it just wipes off with a typical spray (Chemical Guys Citrus) but the hassle is reaching inside the barrels. The wool wheel brushes seem to be worth the $50.
Love the idea of a ceramic coating tho.

My 1LE was the wheel only wheel I've ever reached through for the barrels, I'd never done that or even thought of it until that wheel as sweet as it is was so open and visible. Im too considering what wheel cleaners and as again with the 1LE I put Z26 powerstops in it and eliminated all the dust. I have those pads on my workbench now for the new ZL1, maybe do that tonite.

Came in here just to say this. Treat your wheels like you do your paint and you’ll be golden.
