Question Cutout for convertible

Mechanic claims that cutout isn't possible on Camaro 2SS Convertible from 2010, due to stiffeners under the car. Anyone got any experience to share with me - Any recomondations (brand, webshop etc.) much appreciated.

You can place cutouts anywhere. I do not believe that there will be a place where they would not go to weld.

Should not be a problem. They get welded in the exhaust system, not in the dam frame.

You shouldn't have an issue. Find a different shop!! The get welded into the piping in front of the trans tunnel brace in the bend of the tubing, my buddy has a vert and has them. Here is a pic of where they go, not his car, just a reference pic for ya.

0 mods are able to be done on 2010 convertible Camaros. Convertible Camaros didn't come out until 2011.

Do some searching on this forum. There was someone who was making a special brace for the convertibles wanting cut outs, I think someone called it a “aph brace” to was to be bought, your garage was right, but it is possible with a type of brace for convertibles

On my manual vert, the exhaust is the same as my 2010. I have the pipes from QTP to go with the low-profile cutouts. I'll be installing them and few other things soon. I see no reason it won't fit, at least on a manual.

One of my friends here has a 2012 vert with the auto and has the NOWEEDS setup on his Camaro.

I finally got around to installing cutouts on my vert. I used the QTP low profile for 2.5" exhaust with their premade pipes. The one issue where I had to modify was that the larger crossmember with four bolts on each side would not go back on with the cutouts in place. I moved the crossmember toward the rear of the car lining up the front two bracket holes with the rear two chassis holes. Then I drilled an additional hole for the rear bracket bolt hole in the chassis and used a self-taping bolt and fat washer to lock it in nice and tight.

Are there any pictures from the installation?
