Gorgeous car in silver.

Suspension has some break in time I believe to make a direct comparison.

I went GT4 for mainly the reasons that I could just not get in the 1LE...

1.) Light weight

2.) Mid engine

3.) PDK

4.) Interior and build quality

5.) Lower center of gravity.

On the performance side, they are pretty close. The GT4 wins out for acceleration, ultimate grip levels (like for like), and rotation feeling/lower center of gravity. The 1LE wins out for ultimate ride comfort and high speed stability (above 120ish) when pressing on, on roads that are not completely smooth.

When you consider pricing, the 1LE hits way above its weight class. Like I noted above though, the one caveat is the solid rear cradle bushings, the SS 1LE doesn't feel as confident in the rear as the GT4 in completly stock form.
The PDK is so awesome! My 12 997.2 (911) Turbo S had PDK but it was the older generation. My now current 17 991.2 (911) Turbo S has a way better feeling PDK.

I know owning an SS or even the ZL1 want do the same things my Turbo will, hence thinking the SS is the better choice to fill the gap between my S2K (slow by comparison) and the 700HP Turbo.

If decided to sell though, I know I'd miss it dearly. 0-60 in 2.3 -2.4 secs. and high 9's in the 1/4 with a totally capable daily comfort and crazy fast at the track day will be hard to replace.

GT4s are sweet. I would go with manual. There is one on Turo for 250 a day that I have been thinking about renting. Guess I should do it.

Big Swole, I am in Ball Ground. I'll let you drive my car you let me drive that S2000!

Thanks man, I love it so far, but with one BIG caveat...

As I have the car broken in now and am pushing it more, I will say that the SS 1LE with MRC is much more controlled and stable above 90MPH on broken/rough pavement.

So... I just ordered the MCS 2-way remote coil-overs for it. Normally I would not spend that much for suspension, but I REALLY love the car in every other way and the mid-engine platform is so F'ing awesome. It takes the SS 1LE and dials everything up to 11. The car is SO direct, BUT, PASM is not nearly as good as MRC.

Granted, you do have to keep in mind, I also had the ZL1 1LE solid rear cradle bushings in my 1LE, which did make a profound positive difference in the rear stability.

All cars need a little help from stock and no car is perfect, but I was not expecting to have to replace the GT4 suspension to get the stable damping the 1LE has.

Wow...i knew GM MRC was excellent, but i did not expect a GT4 PASM to be so off the mark!? That's a big surprise to me.
Anyhow, one way, or another, i am sure you'll have bags of fun with it. And hey, you can always trade her on a 1LE

I was rather surprised as well. Most of the YouTube reviews and journalist review praise its suspension.

However most of that is on track, tracks tend to be much smoother than real world roads.

Also, I do remember Randy Probst saying that he was very surprised at how bouncy the GT4 suspension was and that is was a little underdamped. This was awhile ago. I think he was right on the mark.

Anyways, I think the MCS 2-way dampers will fix the one and only flaw the GT4 has.

But yeah, for those that have MRC, be happy, it is a great technology and a lot of manufactures are using them now.

Great piece of tech this MRC - for certain. And a great data point for an ex 1LE owner, to comment on comparison with PASM - so thanks for that! Albeit, GT4s are very track focused machines for sure. Cheers!

Of course. I love to give honest feedback, both good and bad for the greater good. If it helps someone make a more informed decision, that is what is important. Knowledge is power.

The GT4 is so awesome in every other way. The way it takes corners is unreal. This is my first mid-engine car and I am a convert. The 1LE has a lot of grip, but this car is next level. I can carry much more speed in corners in the GT4.

On my favorite on/off ramps that the 1LE saw 1.2ish G's on its best days with fresh tires, I am seeing 1.28 to 1.32 G's in the GT4, and that is in 50 degree weather.

no question light weight, mid engine chassis design, the interior build quality and the low center of gravity is awesome on this car but the sound of a 6cyl will never win me over (Porsche does however makes one of the best sounding 6 cylinders) but its nice that they offer a manual trans in the gt4 as that would be a must as manual is my preference. I just wish it had about 300 more hp and still offered in the manual as it would be a perfect car for me then. A gt2 rs with a manual would do as well I would buy either one. A gt4 rs with a manual and 600-700hp i would buy today.
