Bose system in the convertible

Would anyone be able to give me information about the Bose system in the convertible. Maybe with information about how it sounds and the speakers location and power. Also, is it as good as the 9 speaker system in the coupe. Thanks.

My wife and I have the Bose system on both of our convertibles. I think that they sound good but I also added a pair of subwoofers to my car for a little more thump...I used the space under the top. She has the 2020 2LT/RS - I have the 2020 2SS - both verts..

Thanks for sharing. You found it was missing bass before you added the woofers?

2021 here. Overall it’s not horrible. I agree it needs a little help down low.

I agree, it needs a little bass. I think the radio (FM or XM) sucks too - the sound quality isn't there on the 2016's at least. I think they add HD Radio at some point in the more recent model years and it gets better, though. I mostly play music from my phone with Tidal or MP3's and it sounds OK. It just doesn't sound great.

I was kind of surprised they didn't try to keep the sub the 6th gen - the 5th gen verts had one behind the rear seat. It looks like they needed a spot for the top motor and put it where the sub was on the 5th gens. I guess if I had to pick, though, I would rather have the top we have now that is generations better than the 5th gen, so I can't blame them too much for ditching the sub.

I had the sub setup in my 2014 so I transferred it to the 2020 - I needed to make a different box for it so it now sits under the top when closed - came out pretty good.
Check out the link for what I did below:

Thumbs up

I thought the Bose system was poor and went deep on a full replacement/upgrade, as several others have done.

Pls spend some time searching this forum for everyone’s journey. Here’s mine. Good luck amigo.

I think the consensus is the Bose system in the vert does not sound as good as that of the coupe. We are talking Bose vs Bose here. You give up some drivers and solid reflective surfaces in the vert version.

I have the Bose in the coupe. I think it is good, but not great. Too much money and effort involved to get it on par with past upgrades I have done, typically at the $1000 level. Not worth the multi-thousands people spend here, at least not for me. I listen to all kinds of music on USB every day, and the Bose is good enough. Based on what I have read here, I think the Bose in the vert might have been a deal breaker had I been vert shopping. I have not actually heard it in the vert.
