I am looking at doing 2016 RS onto 2021 RS. Here is where I am at:
- Gen5DIY reports the lighting swap is a no go, given changes in 2019 to computer control of the lighting. They worked with another customer to try to get an adapter harness working and could not make it happen. - Even though the lights were a significant component of the look I was hoping for, I am still contemplating giving it a go with just the fascia swap, but it remains to be seen exactly how that will work out with the shape of the 2019+ lights. I don't like the extended eyebrow anyway on the 2019+, so if I need to wrap or paint part of the eyebrow because it looks odd behind the upper grille, no loss. [Edit: And the hood would be swapped too - forgot to mention that. Not a fan of the spiky 2019+ hood...] I am interested if anyone has tried to fit a 2016-2018 front fascia onto the 2019+ with SS/RS headlights to hear how things matched up... The other potential option is this ZL1 style fascia for 2019+ cars, which loses the grille I was shooting for, but helps roll things back to a 2016-2018 style look: https://www.i-5autohaus.com/product-...version-bumper Yes, I really prefer the 2016-2018 styling over the 2019+, having experience with both as an owner of the former and driver of the latter (as rental cars). This is something I would consider if I got a 2019+ car. Are the headlight dimensions really that different? I assumed one could simply swap just the fascia or possibly fascia+hood.
