Life is too short to not run sticky summer tires during summer.

I have two sets of wheels.
The original 1LE's and a set of ZL1's.
When the tires on the ZL1's wear out I will be putting a set of all season tires so I can drive the car when it's cold. The 1LE's will always have a set of sticky summer tires.

I love driving the car so much I hate having to park it just because it's going to be 20°.

I'd rather give up ultimate grip for a few months, than leave the car idle getting dusty.

It's not like I'm pulling a +1.2g turn all that often on public roads in the winter.

So now I have two sets of Goodyears I get to burn up.

Getting my used 1LE this week and I am super excited for spring! I have been reading a lot about tires and it seems quite divided. For me I plan to drive it daily, in the rain and cooler temps. In need of tires ASAP and plan to buy the Pilot sport 4s due to longevity and overall all season performance. I debated for a while as I would like to keep it stock as it was designed but practicality is more important for the first tire purchase. Anyone totally object/agree? Thanks

I think for a dd car 4s are a solid choice. They wont quite match G3s on a track, but will still be very capable from what ive read.

14k on my tires and they’ve lost all grip with hard acceleration, they hop and slip 1-3.(granted it’s below 70, and they do this cold to normal temp) As a street tire I think the Goodyear’s are not great.

Been really leaning toward the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, as they are rated really well for both street and track. Reviews are good. Compared to the GY? Clearly not as track savvy, but I run the street far more than the track

I'd agree G3s are by far more track vs street tire. Having said that, ive had zero issues with them when dd'ing the car. But i dont keep them for 14k either

+1 (at the risk of redundancy).
