Exclamation V6 manual transmission stock dyno

I've searched and noticed no one has done a dyno on a V6 manual yet so I did some dyno runs today. It's my first time having done a dyno so any questions you may have I may not be able to answer. Car is fully stock.

Perfect.

With an assumed 15% drivetrain loss, around 280ish is exactly what I'd expect to see on these cars with a manual transmission.

What gear did you run the car in during your dyno runs?

Its too bad that basic bolt ons and tune are not going to be easy to come by for this new V6. It was slow going for the 5th gen. I fear it may end up being even worse for the 6th gen now that the turbo 4 is an option.

But based on those numbers, an intake and tune alone should get you at or just past the 300rwhp mark. That would be pretty awesome to see.

If the 6th gen V6 gets other options such as high flow cats, ported intake, ported T/B, and such, I can see pushing 320ish rwhp combined with a tune and intake.

The V6 is what I am most seriously considering for my car - thanks for posting up...very nice results!

It was kept in 4th gear. The results were better than I was expecting considering the automatic dyno was around 240 from the other post I've seen on here.

Wait so I have a question, why isn't it 335hp like advertised?

It is; the 335 is at the crank.

There is power loss by having to go through the drivetrain (transmission, driveshaft, differential, wheels). The 335 is the raw power made by an engine not turning any of those things, just itself at the flywheel or crank.

When you add accessories (air conditioning, anything the drive belt has on it) is robbing power because engine is spinning it (drag) and then the drivetrain also has resistance.

A manual transmission car has less drivetrain loss than an automatic typically. Less resistance from the manual than automatic.

The torque (flat) curve is really nice. 15% loss for a Mustang dyno is pretty good too from Chevy stated crank/brake figures.

Awesome numbers! Thanks for sharing.

Gotta wonder, though, if it had been done in 5th gear (1:1 ratio on the manual), by how much would the peak HP/TQ numbers change?

Im curious as well. Think I've seen before that the numbers are lower when not at 1:1 ratio. But, I'm not sure which way the results way be impacted.

But we also have a slight problem. A 1:1 ratio puts the wheel speed beyond 155 mph where the V6 is governed. So we'd be missing out on the last 500 RPM or so. Likely the reason 4th gear was used.
