Telling people to change their shift habits is not the answer. Most of us have been driving stick for 20+ years. Some of us have more than one car, more than one manual.

The right answer is install the eliminator for 10 bucks and forget the nonsense of anyone telling you to change your shift habits.

It's doable, but the space is so tight it will be a bit of a struggle. It took me a little while to get it in there. I should also mention that the first time I bought an Amazon one for $15 that said would fit, even the reviews, however the plug was slightly different and made my struggle that much so. I paid $25 on one of the Camaro specific sites and that one was a perfect fit.

Very doable if you can jack it up and have jack stands to put it on.

It would help to back it up on some ramps or use jack stands. There are two identical plugs back there one is easy to get to (reverse switch) and one on top of the transmission, thats your target. Best $20 you'll spend on your car.

If it's a manual transmission yes.

The eliminator works on all 6 speed manual equipped V8 GM cars and I believe the Dodge Viper since 1989.

Had my dealer install one this morning when I took delivery of a 2020 Callaway. I have skip capability, but no light...so I wasted 12 bucks. No biggie, so Callaway must have programmed it out.

Got fooled because the message still shows on the 2019 Corvette they did for me.
