Wheel/tire set up recommendations for heads/cam?
I’m looking at rear wheel and tire set ups for when I go heads and cam later this summer. Right now I have cheap Falkens on the car to hold me over, they’re actually pretty good for stock power but I already know they won’t hold another ~150whp.
I’m not sure what of the options below would be best: - Stick with my 20x10 fronts and 20x11 rears and throw a set of PS4’s or Continental’s on. How well would these hold though? I’m sure they won’t hook from a dig but I don’t want to be spinning from 40+ rolls. - Go with a rear drag pack. VMS, Welds, Race star or something with Mickey Thompson Street S/S. I feel like this would be overkill and living in PA rain can come out of nowhere so I can easily screw myself. - Drop down to an 18 or 19 inch wheel in the rear to fit more sidewall and throw a set of of R888R or NT555R2 on. I’m leaning toward this option, it seems to be the best balance of hooking and not having to worry TOO much about getting caught in bad weather. I would try to go with 305/40/19 or 315/40/18. Each would be within a half inch of my current setups height. Thoughts/suggestions? |

Keep your current wheels and tires for inclement weather.
