Cam Ideas for the setup I want

Wondering if anyone can give advice on a build I'm looking into. I want to put edelbrock victor jr cylinder heads with the 2" kooks long tube headers that are built for those heads...high flow cats...x-pipe...muffler delete on my 2016 camaro ss...I already have msd atomic IM with 103mm Nick Williams TB and Rotofab CAI...thoughts on adding a DD cam?

I would try and get a different set of heads. Cam is going to depend on the goals for the car. How much Compression you want to run, how much you want to flycut(if you even want to), and what the car will be used for.

What is your end goal? If you are staying NA I would recommend that you look around at some different heads and go with 1 7/8 headers.

When it comes to cams there are so many options out there. Everyone is going to have their preference but if you go with a well known brand your going to find they are all pretty close IMO.

OP want's a daily driver so the cam probably won't be aggressive. DD cams really don't need to be custom and all that. Probably a stage 1 or stage 2 shelf cam will do the trick.

Off the shelf cam with a off the shelf tune(that has a ton of hours of development) that goes along with it would be a smart move

You'll get the best info from a Cam company or one of their dealers, BTR, Texas Speed, Pray Performance etc. They'll be able to advise you what you'll need to meet your goals.

Cam Motion Titan 2 with stock compression. Titan 3 if you bump compression up and run primarily E85. More cam needs more compression and octane to retain low speed torque and good midrange power.

With the stock pistons, you will not be able to run a cam with any overlap at all. Valve positions and sizes are different than stock, you will smack a piston with any serious camshafts. You can set the piston at TDC and measure vertical valve drop with a dial indicator on the valve to verify.

I'm on a GPI stage 2 cam with a basically similar build (heads, cam, msd, roto, nw103, headers, e) stock converter and i put down 544 thru the a10. no big issues with daily driving. the 2-1 downshift is a bit rough if you arent careful with it but thats all

Just flycut the factory piston. That’s what I did. It’s a pretty straight forward deal and Ryan over at GPI even made a video on it to show those that don’t know how.

Thank you for the info..very helpful...what set of heads do you recommend..also I know I can Google it..but I'd rather hear from someone on here...what is flycutting a piston? Will it be my original pistons?
