I've been wondering the same, my guess is the Rotofab Big Gulp, but I think it's only a compaitble fit for lt4 cars. Jlt seems to be the only 5inch intake out there but not a lot of empirical or anecdotal data on it.

Weapon X makes a 5" that seems to make great gains. For reference, a post I saw with a L83 that used a Weapon X CAI picked up 10 rwhp and 23 ftlb over the cold air inductions. truck has cam and ported heads so low 400 rwhp range. I believe gains would be similar for the JLT over factory or even the cold air induction. If I didn't have this Rotofab I would try it. 5" intake tube is the way to go

Just like the roto fab the weapon x says its only for supercharged engines. The Jlt is the only one that says is for N/a cars.

I ran it for a little while and it did show lower vacuum. I may go back to it.

I tuned a bolt minor bolt on car a few weeks ago with the JLT and it make some good power actually. Not sure if it was a freak car or what mods made it have good numbers. Owner installed the stuff and I just dyno tuned it.

I forgot to mention that the JLT package included an SCT x4 tuner loaded with their tune.

Subscribing.
I run a JLT intake on my Lightning. Very nice produces for Fords that are know available to GM and Chrysler products. Also SCT is as well. One thing I can't figure out since buy my GEN6 back in November is why RotoFab is the only recommend intake for these cars. With a LS1 car it was run any reputable companies LID and a dropin K&N. On my Fords I've run K&N, C&L, JLT, etc, but basically they all did pretty much the same thing even if some where generally thought to make a little more power or be build better than others. With these cars it's RotoFab or stay OEM. I think the JLT looks nice, the K&N looks nice, Cold Air Inductions looks nice, Airaid looks nice so why are these options discouraged for the GEN6 LT1 cars? |
