Looks like a pretty straight forward process...Thanks for posting that!

-LT5 cam and standard lifters to delete AFM stuff.

-Drop in rods/pistons.

-Your PI setup.

I think this would be a nice sleeper setup that should be able to pull over 800whp with 15-16psi on E and drive like stock.
Agreed. This would be the perfect street car IMO.

Yes, you generally use the EQ torque table to add back in the % removed at the higher RPM ranges to keep the trans happy.

But the other problem with the 8 speed seems to be the response time of the commanded shifts, once the engine accelerates faster in gear due to more power, it seems we've always needed to "lead" the shift to make it happen in time. So in first gear we had to set the shift RPM to 5800 to get the shift to occur by 6300 or so. The 10 speed seems much more refined and tolerant to changes around it (at least so far).

Yea I have noticed that it Auto mode for the A8 in the first couple gears, but in TUTD mode the A8 shifts where you command it to in all gears. So, for that reason, I use TUTD mode for racing and have it programmed to still shift on its own @ WOT.

You won't miss any shifts as the computer will still shift for you once it's setup correctly. It works better then Auto mode. It will hold gear until shift MPH is reached. Which makes it nice if you have to pedal it from wheel spin. And it's easier to tune since you don't have to factor in a bunch of lead time mph. Set first gear to 30mph and it will shift there on it's own.

Nice - never knew that! I'll have to give it a try sometime.

Yeah the TUTD reprogrammed to do full auto upshifts is a game changer! When I get to the starting line, I can tap up to launch in second gear and the car does all the rest automatically.

On my 10 speed on the dyno I get a dip in power around 6000 to 6200 if in tap shift. if im not in tap shift it pulls all the way. I would start in tap shift to do the pull then slap it over after i thought it would not down shift and no dip.

It would be interesting to see what yours does Laynlo

I'll see if that happens on Wednesday when we go on the dyno, not sure what it will make but somewhere north of 680 I'm guessing. Could be wrong but with the ET and MPH that should be close. Mike thinks it will be higher, we'll see and I'll post on Wednesday with results, gonna be hot and humid at about 88 degrees.
