Black wheels - Yes or No?

Trying to think if I want to keep the bright silver wheels. Or get a plastidip kit, pay to get the wheels powder coated, etc.

I know it’s my decision because it’s may car, but I’m torn.

What’s y’all’s thoughts?

Black wheels, and cars, look good when their clean that’s for sure. I wanted a wheel that also looked good at night or in low light so it was black chrome for me.

Totally your choice, but I like dark wheels (although I like gunmetal more than black). It's pretty easy to dip wheels and you could try one and see if you like it.

My 2018 RS V6 originally had the silver 20 inch wheels, and I had them powder coated a satin black. I honestly like it much better

Black would look much better but I'd go the powder coated route.

Black wheels only look good when they are clean...which only lasts for about the first 5miles you drive the car after washing it. If anything I would do the Detroit Wheel exchange and get them in PVD black chrome. The shiny finish will help mask some of the brake dust and look cleaner longer.

get them power coated black. Its relatively cheap and when fully cured is pretty resilient. Plastidip will look like doodoo after a week (doesn't matter how much of the glossifier you use).

I prefer the contrast between the tire and the wheel in terms of color.

My car came with black wheels....Told the dealer no deal unless they swapped them for the silver wheels on another car.

Another vote for gunmetal. I have the OEM SS 1LE wheels and love them.

Agreed on this too. The PVD finish looks great on the factory wheels.

Black wheels look good but so do silver wheels. Personally, I am glad that my car has silver wheels because everything under the sun has black wheels now. I say keep them silver!

gunmetal, anthracite, something other than just black. But in the end, do what you want. Black wrinkle powder coat.

I have a set of bronze 19's and anthracite in the same size. did the black for 5 years. It's the feel and what you want.
