Drag star 17x4.5 with 215/65s all ready!!

This is the setup I came up with for myself. The 215/65 is a 28" tall tire, has no more bolge then any classic 15" radial tire looks on this 4.5 rim.

That's a 25 pound tire meant to be put on a 6" wheel. Your call, I guess...

Haven't weighed them but they are light! Speed rated to 120 and same load rating as stock, I don't plan on auto X with them, they will fine.

I'm looking at the same tires for my racestars! Mine are 17x7 though.

Thanks. Matching 18x10.5s are in the mail for my nto5s! Can't wait to hit the track, still pretty crapy in IL so it might be another month!

Have you done anything different to the car since the last track visit? The extra weight saved should be good for ya.

Nothing, next visit will have the full drag star setup on. And I will also have a shift kit that allows me to hold first gear till 6800-7k instead of short shifting itself at 6k! I expect a pretty solid gain.

From what I can find, the fronts should wiegh aprox 40-42lbs. My stockers with 275s on front were about 65-68lbs from what I remember. So I will have a solid 45lbs of wheel off the front along with much less rolling resistance of that big tire!

And its 45lbs of rotating mass. I like the Racestars, nice looking rims.

Are you changing the weights in the governor to adjust the max rpm?
