Today's Barrett-Jackson....Vin 1 Hummer EV...Al O., Tunnels to Towers Charity,... 2.5 Million bid...Very nicely done. Good to see Al O.

Kudos to Mary Berra, Al O., and all of GM.
This was marketing and advertising at its best. Congrats to all involved.

Trickle down tech. Curious where it'll slot within the ICE lineup.

Now, how close is it to this weird thing?

Probably pretty damn close. Better view of it in the link above.

It says:

For current owners of compatible vehicles that previously did not have navigation built in, Maps+ brings a connected ecosystem of voice assistants, navigation and apps into a singular experience.
So...anyone with a vehicle that has a compatible infotainment system (even if they didn't buy Nav) can get this? Like using Google Maps with CarPlay? I hope GM starts letting buyers opt for things like the upgraded stereo system without having it bundled with the navigation. It's obviously not needed any more.

Also says this...

"Maps+ will be available on select vehicles through Connected Vehicle, Premium and App Access subscription plans. Current eligible Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac owners will be notified when their vehicle is eligible for Maps+."

I hate that everything is moving to subscription plans. I've got enough of those in my life.

Well crap. That's what I get for skimming lol.

I have nav in my 2015 Colorado and my wife has it in her 2018 Terrain. Is it nice to have? Sure it is. We typically use it instead of our phones...although I'd say the maps in my truck are outdated now so not super reliable anymore like Google Maps would be. Did we really want the nav? Not really. Just wanted the better audio and infotainment. Maybe next time I'll just opt for a subwoofer or something.
