The wind screen came with my car.

I have yet to install it as the panel popped on my car in its first week of ownership.

So after 3 weeks of my car being in the shop, to install new panels, new top, etc. I asked if they could show me how to install it.

The service guy looks at the instructions.

We proceed to put it in.

It does not fit.

So he calls a tech over, they take the car saying they will use special tools to install it.

He comes back after 15 minutes and says in order to install it, it will scrape the panels, is that ok?

No, it is not OK. So back in the bag it goes, back into the trunk.

I do not know how many of you have the OE wind screen, but would really like to know if you have had any issues with your wind screen.

I went so far as to wonder whether the panels are sticking out more than they should.

If anyone can help, I thank you in advance.

Posted in your other thread as well

I have used the OE windscreen on my 2SS it fits good and does not scrape the panels, it sounds like they don't know how to install this thing. No tools required - My car's at the shop getting a roll-bar installed otherwise I would take a few pics showing how easy it is to install.

Mine fits perfect, no scratched panels. Are you sure it was made for a gen 6 Camaro and not gen 5?

Thank you.

It is far larger than the area it would be in, so it is clearly not for the Gen 6.

You would think that the service manager, the service rep & tech would have been able to figure that out.

I even said how could GM design such a thing that does not fit.

I searched around the internet to see if I could find a shot of it installed on a Gen 6 and there is clearly enough space on either side.

Unreal.

I have reached out to them about swapping it out.

The GM windscreen fits perfect! No tools and easy installation. If your car was new and came with a windscreen, they should replace it with the correct one. Install it yourself to get familiar with it...I did mine without instructions.

Yes, it's quick and easy. No tools and no scratching.

Sorry for the old thread bump, but is it easy to take in and out? and it fits in the trunk when all folded up? I'd love one, but the price tag is a shocker and I've got kids, so I've got to be able to remove it when I get them in the back.

Yes, it folds over to one fourth the size and goes into the included soft case. You can put it at the front of the trunk space and still easily put the top down without hitting it.

Well worth it, imho. Fits easily in a Gen6 and easy to store in the trunk.

Mine came with the car and was one of the first things I installed. It installs easily and works very well to reduce wind and noise. It is going to stay in place and folded down when the top is up.
We plan to throw soft luggage in the back seat so it may help deter nosy people. Definitely a must to have with a convertible.

The really interesting thing for me, Is I want the wind in the cabin. I do like the fold up/down though, I might have to look into it.

Do they make one that does not say Camaro on it?

Or will the Camaro lettering come off easily?

Debating OEM or aftermarket.

Thanks,
D.
