Labor Rates

I have a 2017 1 SS that has an unlocked TCM, flex fuel sensor, AWE axel back and tune already done. I got a quote for $2700 for Speed Engineering 1 7/8 LTH, 3 inch X pipe and custom tune. Is that on par for getting things like this done? The exhausts was $700 and $1000 for labor and $1000 for tune? Thanks in advance.

That sounds a bit pricey to me. These days though with everything being so inflated it might be about right?? One can call around and get prices? Best of luck.

GPI seems to be a pretty well regarded performance shop. They quote about $500ish for header install. Tuning is about $800.

My local performance shop quoted me $700-800 for a tune.

Big shops usually charge around $150/hr for labor.

I know tunes were 750 each time.

What's the labor rate on the estimate?

I'd assume a specialty/tuning shop would be higher than the average mechanical rate for the area. Around here, dealerships are definitely over $100/hr for basic work.

In 2/21, my shop's rate was $150/hr. Now, it's $220. What's yours?
