Who to build an engine?

I need to get my LS 3 rebuilt. What are some recommended places to do so? Closer to Annapolis Maryland the better but will drive for a good build and a good deal.

Are you doing upgrades or just getting your stock motor redone because of a failure of some kind?

It did have a failure, started it up and just sounded like it was down a cylinder. Gave it a little.throttle and blue smoke out of the drivers exhaust. Did a compression check on driver side and cylinder 1 was down. So now I need a rebuild...

The motor is supposed to be a 415 forged stroker, I have no documentation on that though. And when I had it returned it only.made 570 rwhp at 8psi which seemed to be more on par with a cam only motor. So now I don't know if the motor is stock with a cam...forged....or stroked. If its stroked then im assuming there was already some damage that happened.

So as far as a stock rebuild or upgrades, it really depends on what is already inside of the motor.

Since you are in MD, I think Maryland Speed is a shop I've heard from guys over there. I think they are a sponsor on here or at least used to be.

If you can't find anyone over there and don't mind the drive. We have Horsepower Addicts and Race Proven Motorsports.... both are up in Wilmington, DE. I've used HA twice for both of my tunes.

The guy I used for my rebuild left and went down to the beach somewhere. He did it as a side gig. I ended up just doing an LS3 conversion with upgraded oil pump and springs.

To add to those shops, if you don't mind coming to PA, both Injection-Connection and Complete Street Performance are great shops too.

Maryland Speed was a parts vendor/drop shipper, and they are no longer a sponsor of this page. There are numerous articles as to why online....

OP, being in MD, I recommend you reach out to Jannetty Racing Ent. They are located in Waterbury Conn... Great guy, and if he cant help you he can and will make a great recommendation...

Katech is another great (engine builder) shop, though they are in Clinton Twp Michigan....
